Mt Hutt College arranges and monitors homestay families for international students. Students can study at the College for as little as one term but most students stay longer – a full year is recommended if you want to see the whole of New Zealand life around the calendar.  Students preparing for qualifications and aiming to continue to tertiary study generally study at Mt Hutt College for several years.  As each International student is individual, we will help them with their planning so that they select the length of study and course which best suits their needs and aims.

International students enjoy meeting at the International Room at school, and taking part in group trips such as going to a Canterbury Crusaders rugby game or a day trip to Akaroa to see the wildlife of Akaroa Harbour.  Our Homestay Co-ordinator also has an office at the College so that she is easily found by students if they have a question or want to have a chat.  They have cell phone contact 24/7 with her for any emergency assistance.
