Mount Hutt College is set in a beautiful location in mid-Canterbury, nestled near the hills surrounding the Mount Hutt ski area. The vista is amazing and inspirational.
Mount Hutt College has wonderful buildings, grounds and facilities. Over the last few years we have been fortunate to have a very exciting building programme. This has been because of our significant roll growth in recent years. Our new buildings include:-
- 2003 - new international room
- 2004 - new administration block
- 2005 - new science laboratory and 3 new classrooms
- 2006 - four further classrooms
- 2007 - new technology suite
- 2008 - new canteen
- 2009 - new addition to the gymnasium; extension of music suite
- 2010 - new extension and renovation of our library is planned
For many of the recent projects we have been fortunate to have the services of renowned architect, Peter Beaven. Peter’s designs have brought an integration to the look of our facilities.
Another feature of the school is the extensive and attractive grounds, which allow a full range of recreational and sporting facilities. In winter we make full use of the nearby Mount Hutt skifield. Our students take part in a full range of sports, including golf, squash, rugby, cricket, hockey, netball, soccer, moto-cross and many others.
We also offer a full range of cultural activities from choir, theatresports, drama, orchestra and kakphaka.
The combination of excellent facilities, professional and supportive teachers and a safe and healthy environment give Mount Hutt College students a privileged education.
